Filipino Canadian Junmar Emon Steps Up and Fights The Popular and Undefeated Brandon Cook

PhilBoxing.com

Mississauga, Canada - In a sudden turn of events which started to circulate last night, Brandon ?Bad Boy? Cook may end up without an opponent for tonight?s United Boxing Promotion?s fight card at the Mississauga Hershey Center. Brandon ?Bad Boy? Cook is a very popular young boxer with one of the largest fan base in the Toronto Region. He is a force to reckon with and has an undefeated record of 7 wins, and 4 knockouts, many of those fights at the Hershey Center. Cook is well liked, a gentleman and a highly marketable handsome young man with fine pugilistic skills. During today?s weigh-in, Cook?s opponent Beka Sutidze never reached Canadian soil due to a lost passport.

Junmar Emon who is also on the same card tonight, with his manager and advisor Richard Souce and John Melich took the challenge and stepped up when the opportunity knocked and United Boxing Promotions came calling to fight Brandon ?Bad Boy? Cook. Emon encountered uncertain opponents heading into this fight until Mate Sebok was inked as an opponent very recently. Emon and his management originally wanted to fight another dangerous Canadian boxer Ryan Wagner who has more experience; however negotiations did not go through as planned. The opportunity that landed on Junmar Emon?s lap is as sweet as it can get if you are hungry, willing and able, definitely high stakes high rewards.

The Ontario Athletic Commission waited until the weigh-ins finished for tonight?s fight before sanctioning Brandon Cook vs. Junmar Emon. As a last minute replacement, Emon gets an upgraded handsome purse and an opponent that will test him to his limits. Cook vs. Emon is bumped up to the co-main event, a huge opportunity for the full blooded Bisaya fighter who turned pro late will be dangerous opponent for Brandon Cook.

Don MacDonald of United Boxing Promotions stated that Cook vs. Emon is a huge impact to his fight card tonight bumped up to the co-main event. He proposed to have the Cook vs. Emon fight to go 8 or 6 rounds however the Ontario Athletics Commission allowed 4 rounds in sanctioning this fight because Emon only has a couple of fights under his belt. Promoter MacDonald stated that Junmar Emon and his manger Rick Souce were true to their words with fighting anyone, anywhere and anytime; they actually meant it. They want to be the best and fight the best, Junmar Emon is going to be a true champion one day. MacDonald is pleased with the 4 rounds granted by the commission after a long thought process because it will be 4 rounds of absolute war that will be equivalent of 10 rounds boxing.

Heading into this fight, Brandon ?Bad Boy? Cook is the hands down favorite since he has a lot more experience with good timing complemented with jabs that sets up picture perfect combinations until he breaks his opponents down systematically. Watching Cook evolve with each fight has been a real treat for promoters and fans alike. Many fans regard Brandon Cook as a superior boxer compared to Junmar Emon. If that is true, it will unfold tonight. Due to his popularity, whenever Cook walks out to fight at the Hershey Center, the crowd comes alive due to his fan support and exciting performances. Expect Brandon Cook to have the majority of the fans tonight over Filipino Canadian Junmar Emon who is still a newcomer to the pro game.

Junmar Emon has all finest attributes of a Filipino boxer, he is heavy handed and complemented with beautiful footwork what covers the ring thoroughly. Emon will lunge and charge in and take his chances to land big head and body shots against Cook who is more methodical and will be waiting to catch Emon on his way in.

This fight is as real as it gets, fans will have their favorites and who you know counts. If you know what Junmar Emon is capable of, and many don?t, this fight is right down the middle. There is really no favorites for this writer, the only difference is that one of them has more experience than the other.

Both Brandon Cook and Junmar Emon who are familiar with each other exchanged pleasantries and mutual respect after the weigh-ins and medicals this morning. They did not weigh-in together due to the fact that the commission has not approved the fight until after the official weigh-ins were finished. Cook thanked Emon for stepping up to face him tonight and said that he would rather face Emon more than any other opponent that has been offered to him for this fight card.

Emon expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to face Brandon Cook but he is confident that he will handle himself well. Emon has never been this excited about any of his fights, this time around, he feels the electricity and he is pumped to fight Cook. Cooks face shows determination and sure confidence, he was calm, cool and collective about fighting Emon. When the bell rings the pleasantries will end and these two will go at it at full force for 4 rounds of ring war until one of their hands is raised victorious.
