BASH BOXING AT HOLLYWOOD?S FLORENTINE GARDENS WAS A BASH! By Ed de la Vega, DDS PhilBoxing.com Sat, 22 Sep 2012 Hollywood, CA :- Bash Bashing held a 10-fight promotions at the Florentine Gardens Thursday night featuring some of the up and coming new boxers this side of town. Simply put, it was a real bash! (no pun intended) There were six KO?s in the 10-fight event and it left the crowd in a frenzy. In the main event, LA?s Terrence Williams (7-0-0,6KO) took a mere 1:59 seconds to stop Lawrence Hughes (4-4-0) of St. Louis, MO. (above photo) Williams jumped on Hughes at the bell. He battered his opponent all across the ring with almost seemingly unanswered punches. Before Hughes can set up to mount his own offensive, the referee stopped the fight as he was hanging on the ropes getting pummeled from all angles. It was a classic fight between the super fast and the very slow starter. In the supporting main event and the lone women?s fight, Sarah Kuhn (5-2-1) of Albany New York appeared to have been the busier and the better fighter but after 6 long rounds, local girl Holly Lawson (5-2-2, 1KO) was declared the winner by split decision. Kuhn vs Lawson. Needless to say, the decision was loudly booed. The judges? scores were 58-56. 58-56 for Lawson and 58-56 for Kuhn. Kuhn took the loss in stride and promised to be back with vengeance. Crowd favorite Zachary Wohlman ( 4-0-1, 1KO) of Hollywood fought Jesus Vallejo (3-2-0) of Billings, Montana to a 3 round technical draw. Wohlman was cut in the forehead after a huge accidental head clash. His corner was left unable to manage the bleeding leaving the ring doctor no choice but to stop the fight. Wohlman vs Vallejo. Louis Rose (5-0-0, 1KO) of Los Angeles took all of 1:06 second in round one to stop another local boy, David Clark (5-2-0,4KO) Hollywood won via a unanimous decision over Shawn Nichol (6-10-0) of Denver, CO. Scores were all 58-57. Vyascheslav Shabransky (1-0--,1KO) of Russian who now makes Hollywood his home scored a very scary KO of Brian McGlory (1-1-0) of SanDiego, CA. It took sometime for the doctors to revive him and when they did, the paramedics had to place him in a gurney with a neck support and took him away in an ambulance. Shabransky vs McGlory. Since there was only one ambulance in the scene, the CSAC held the fight card for almost an hour so another set of paramedics and an ambulance can be called to man the fight card. Erik Ruiz (6-0-0,1KO) of Oxnard, CA Daniel Modad (6-6-0) of Tijuana, MX at 2:13 of round one. Ruiz vs Modad. Javier Albonica (4-1-0, 3KO) of North Hollywood stopped Willie Walton (4-4-0) of Salt Lake City, Utah at 1:31 of round 1. Albonica vs Walton. Neil Arrellano (2-0-0) of Northridge beat Andre Ewell (0-2-0) of Moreno Valley by UD. Scores were all 40-36. Arellano vs Ewell. In the curtain raiser, Dimash Niyazov (1-0-0) of Staten Island, NY stopped Alonso Loeza (2-7-1,4KO) of Gilroy, CA. 2:51 of round one. Niyazov vs Loeza.
