MICHAEL KONCZ IS A CLASSIC ?SMOKE-SCREEN?

PhilBoxing.com

Michael Koncz, the Pacquiao go-fer, in an interview with Dan Rafael who was writing for ESPN stated a few days ago that ?his boss had requested Top Rank Promotions to re-schedule his fight from November 10th to December 1st.?

Koncz? statement was made in reply to people asking why Pacquiao?s scheduled fight on November 10th was moved to December 1st.

Apparently the request had something to do with Pacquiao?s filing for candidacy in October. If he goes on with the Nov 10th schedule and trains exclusively at the Wildcard Gym in Hollywood, going back to Manila to just file his candidacy will interfere with his training in LA.

Well, at least that is what Koncz said.

Many took his word with a grain of salt and some people wrote about it making it appear that indeed that is the true reason why the fight was rescheduled.

That is until James Jimenez of the Philippine Commission on Election debunked Koncz? statements.

Jimenez stated that Pacquiao can always send someone to file his candidacy and the Philippine COMELEC will accept it on his behalf. Sending a ?runner? would not be too difficult given the numerous ?hangers-on? that surrounds Pacquiao 24/7/365

Oh my!

Jimenez statements again proved one of the many theories why Pacquiao is keeping Koncz in his ?team? in spite of the many negatives allegedly written and said about the Canadian ex-pat.

Koncz is Pacquiao?s fall guy. His smoke screen, if you may. He does all the ?dirty? jobs to protect his boss.

If there are issues that need to be addressed and the Team wants to keep them to themselves for some reason or another, Pacquiao sends Koncz to say statements aimed to mis-direct everyone.

And, Koncz is a perfect one for the role because the guy does not seem to be affected by anything negative that is thrown at him. The folks back home have a word for that:- ?elephant skinned.?

But mind you, he gets paid lots of money to play the role. It would not be too far fetched to think that he laughs all the way to the bank and on his way, he is smirking at everyone.

Oh as far as the Pacquiao fight?

No one for sure knows who will be the guy on the other corner, except Pacquiao himself.

Michael Koncz may know him too. But, until Pacquiao says so, he ain?t telling anyone.

He is the smoke screen, remember?

Therefore, until Pacquiao gives his word, it is foolish to write articles based purely on Koncz? statements because some of those statements are meant as mis-information to keep everyone guessing and continually interested on Pacquiao?s next fight.
