Rosalio Pacquiao, estranged father of dethroned WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, declared this as he joined millions around the world in the chorus denouncing his son?s defeat to American Timothy Bradley Saturday night at the MGM Grand. ? Napakasakit, kasi maliwanag na panalo. Hindi bale sana kung mahigpit ang laban, eh ang layo ng lamang (It hurts because my son was a very clear winner (It hurts because Manny clearly won. I could?ve been okay if the fight was close),? Mang Rosalio said in halting Tagalog with heavy Visayan accent. ?Nadaya, maliwanag na nadaya. Kahit sinong tanungin mo nagkaroon ng dayaan ( He was cheated. Ask anybody and he will tell you there was cheating),? he said. Mang Rosalio said a victory would have been the best gift he would have wanted on the occasion Father's this coming Sunday. "Malungkot tuloy ang magiging selebrasyon ng Father's Day para sa akin (Manny's loss rendered the celebration of trhe Father's Day said for me)," he said. ?Sabi nila dito daw sa Amerika, pantay-pangay lahat. Mang Rosalio, who left his wife (Dionisia) and his brood of four, that includes Isidra, Bobby and Roel, when Manny was only six years old, remarked. Mang Rosalio said abandoning his family was the biggest mistake he had committed and that he was sorry doing such. ?Pinagsisisihan ko yun, pero noong panahon nay un kasi, din a kami magkasundo ng asawa ko,? (I was really sorry it happened, but then, my wife and I couldn?t reconcile things up),? he related. Mang Rosalio a shy and soft-spoken man, now lives with second wife Bruna whom he has not a single offspring. He said he is lucky having very kind children, especially Manny, Aleng Dionisia for taking good care of them. ?Napakabait ni Manny. Kahit na iniwanan ko sila, lagi niya akong binibigyan ng kailangan ko mula nang kumikita na siya (Manny?s very kind. Despite me leaving them, he always gives me all my needs since he started earning),? he disclosed. He said Manny built him a house and gave him a car, which he is now using in his small business. Mang Rosalio is into farming and fighting cock raising but had just gotten rid of the latter after Manny gotten rid of his. ?Yung farm ko, 20 ektarya na binigay din ni Manny tinamiman ko ng niyog at manga at kumikita na (My 20-hectare farm, which I planted with coconut and mango,was also given by Manny and is reaping fruits),? Mang Rosalio, a heavy smoker, said. He said he is also slowly getting rid of his only two vices ? cigarettes and drinking ? like his favorite son. Manny has also influenced him to read the Bible.
