UNBEATEN BOXERS DISPUTE PHIL. SUPERFLYWEIGHT TITLE
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Tue, 10 Apr 2012

Cebu - They faced each other early in their careers and the fight ended in a four round majority draw. Three years after serving as curtain raisers at the Cebu Coliseum, Marco Demecillo Singwangcha of the RWS Gym of Cebu will challenge Philippine superflyweight champion Marvin Mabait of Zamboanga City this April 22 at the Mactan Lapu-lapu Shrine in Lapu-lapu City.
The undefeated Demecillo (15W-0L-1D, 11KO's) is one of the top fighters promoted by Rex ?Wakee? Salud and is sponsored by Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha. He won the interim version of the Philippine title last October in Liloan, Cebu by stopping Louie Bantigue in nine rounds. Marco had a good learning experience when he sparred with WBA bantamweight champion Koki Kameda of Japan last month at the RWS Gym.
Mabait (16W-0L-2D,10 KO's) is also undefeated and is a mainstay of the Blue Stallion stable of Zamboanga Congressman Erico Basilio Fabian. Part of his training regimen includes a stint at the Pe?alosa boxing stable. Mabait won the title last January with a unanimous decision win over Rey Perez in Caloocan City. His last fight in Cebu was at the Cebu Coliseum last June 2011 and he stopped Aljun Salogaol in seven rounds.
The undercards will feature light flyweights Fernando 'Batang Bato? Ocon of the RWS gym against Jay-R Estremos of Baguio City (10 rounds), miniflyweights Marlou Sandoval Singwangcha of the RWS Gym and Marlo Talili of Bohol who will fight for eight rounds and Jayson Redondo Singwangcha of the RWS Gym will fight with Jayvee Alipio also from Baguio City for 8 rounds at 126 lbs.
