AMIR KHAN PREDICTS PACQUIAO WILL WALK THROUGH MARQUEZ By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 09 Nov 2011 WBA/IBF light welterweight champion Amir Khan predicts that pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao ?will walk through? WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez in the third fight of what is expected to be another classic in their storied trilogy at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, Manila Time. In an interview with the Manila Standard from the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles where he was working out, Khan said although Pacquiao ?should walk through him this time because Manny is totally different but it should be a good fight.? Khan said Pacquiao has ??looked great in training, looks sharp and strong? while Marquez ?looks big with a heavy upper body and I think he?s going to try to win by overpowering Manny. But I think Manny is going to be too slick and too quick.? While conceding that Marquez is a Mexican warrior who comes to fight Khan said Pacquiao?s hand-speed and quick footwork would overcome Marquez size. Strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza who didn?t join the Team Pacquiao entourage which left for Las Vegas after a final workout said Pacquiao has been ?really cooperative in slowing down and not pushing as hard as he normally does and he?s taking the fight seriously.? Ariza said he sparred four rounds with Raymund Beltran but ?it wasn?t a hard four rounds just to stay sharp and focused and then went some rounds with trainer Freddie Roach on the punch-mitts.? Three division world champion Marquez made a grand arrival aboard his specially designed bus at the lobby of the MGM Grand where he was greeted by cheering fans with many Mexicans among the crowd. Marquez who in a recent conference call stated ? without a doubt the fight is personal for me. I didn?t get the two decisions I thought I won. I think I will win this fight because I should have won the first two.? Marquez predicted ?its going to be great because we both want this fight and we are going to give it our all.?
