WEIGHTS FROM SIQUIJOR By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Wed, 14 Sep 2011 Siquijor - Adonis ?TI YAMAGATA? Aguello and Jake Verano both tipped the scales at the division limit of 126 lbs Wednesday noon for their Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) featherweight title fight September 15 at the Siquijor Municipal Gym. The weigh-in was held at the fight venue and was supervised by Celso Miranda of the Games and Amusements Board of Cebu. Aguello (14W-6L-1D, 8 KOs) fights out of the TI Cebu Stable. Last February, he beat Edgar Gabejan by unanimous decision in a non-title fight held in Dalaguete, Cebu but did not have much luck abroad, losing his three foreign fights. Verano (20W-15L-3D, 10 KOs) hails from Bukidnon. He fought in Cebu last January where he lost to James Bacon of the ALA Gym by unanimous decision in a non-title bout at the IT Park in Lahug. The main supporting bout features Bobby Sentillas, who will face Robert Awetin of Bohol. Sentillas, who weighed 119 lbs on his second attempt, will carry the name Rajah Rov Sentillas for this eight round bout. Awetin, who weighed 117 lbs, has faced quality opponents like Larry Canillas and Albert Pagara and is expected to give another tough fight. Sentillas was chosen as the Best Boxer of the recent ?Buhay Boksingero? reality fight series. Also penned to see action are Honey Boy Vidad (126.5 lbs) of Siquijor vs. Aljun Salogaol (120.5 lbs) - 6 rounds, Renoel Pael (112.5 lbs) vs. Jesse Dignos (110 lbs) - 4 rounds, Bryan Samson (117 lbs) of Siquijor vs. Romy Augis (113 lbs) - 4 rounds and Alvin Aresgado (121 lbs) of Siquijor vs. Rico Pael (113 lbs) - 4 rounds. Siquijor natives Samson and Aresgado will be penalized by wearing heavier gloves on fight night. This event is part of the celebration for the ?Araw ng Siquijor? and promoted by Rex ?Wakee?
