PINOY PRIDE 6 UNDERCARD RESULTS, DAPUDONG LEADS WINNERS CIRCLE By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Jun 2011 CEBU CITY -- Former WBC silver flyweight champion Edrin 'The Sting' Dapudong won by 4th round TKO over Benja Loemoli of Indonesia heading the undercards of the Pinoy Pride 6 'Grudge Rematch' between Rey 'Boom Boom' Bautista versus Heriberto Ruiz of Mexico at the Waterfront Hotel here tonight. Dapudong, who won his first title over Jesus Jimenez in Mexico in June last year but lost it against Wilbert Uicab in his first defense, also in Mexico, sent Loemoli to the canvas in the first round and dominated the game Indonesian in the 2nd and 3rd rounds before another knockdown at 20 seconds in the 4th round forced the referee to stop the contest. Dapudong has now upped his record to 22 victories against 3 losses. Undefeated ALA superbantam prospect Genesis Servania socred two knockdowns in the first round against Richard Donaire of General Santos City courtesy of two right uppercuts before stopping the overmatched Donaire with another uppercut in the second round. Servania improved his record to 14 wins with 5 knockouts. In a 6-round give and take affair between Rey Melligen and Jesson Enzo, Melligen got the nod of the judges winning by unanimous decision with scores of 59-55, 58-56, 58-56. Melligen, younger brother of welterweight prospect Jason Melligen, remained undefeated after 5 fights. Hot minifly prospect Roma Rate put on a show by sending Marjun Baliguat to the canvas 3 times in the first minute of the first round before winning by TKO after the referee stopped the fight after the third knockdown. Roma Rate, whose three previous wins were also by knockouts, first sent Baliguat with a left hook and then with a right before another left finished the night for Baliguat. Another undefeated ALA prospect in Boyce Sultan won by unanimous decision over Royroy Sumagat with identical scores of 58-56 by the three judges. In the curtain raiser, debuting bantamweight Mark Vincent Bernaldez of knocked out Ramie Crisostomo at 1:03 in the first round. Bernaldez is one of the promising fighters of the ALA Gym and has now followed the footsteps of undefeated young prospects Alex Pagara, Roma Rate and Boyce Sultan.
