PACQUIAO'S STAR CONTINUES TO ZOOM By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Sat, 30 Apr 2011  Pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao?s star continues to zoom not merely as the ?Fighter of the Decade? but as a crossover personality of increasingly dynamic proportions. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum?s prized possession continues to heighten his endorsements profile and pursue innovative business deals following Arum?s success in convincing him to appoint a former top IMG executive to handle his endorsements and marketing. Pacquiao made a special appearance at the Nike Vault store in downtown Los Angeles Friday (Saturday in Manila) which proved to be a huge success. Exclusive Pacquiao merchandise is being featured at the store where Filipino-Americans, Hispanics and Americans have continued to purchase various products with the Pacquiao brand name. Pacquiao?s adviser Michael Koncz told the Philippine Daily Inquirer that the eight division world champion had another great workout at the Wild Card Gym as he makes his final preparations for his upcoming World Welterweight mega fight against "Sugar" Shane Mosley on Saturday, May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao vs Mosley is promoted by Top Rank in association with MP Promotions,Sugar Shane Mosley Promotions,Tecate and MGM Grand. The Pacquiao vs Mosley telecast will be available live on SHOWTIME Pay Per View. In the Philippines, the fight card will be telecast ?live? on pay-per-view over Cignal TV while ABS-CBN?S global network, The Filipino Channel will also telecast the fight card ?live? on a PPV basis in the Middle East, Europe and Australia. The fights will be aired on free TV in the Philippines over Solar Sports and GMA 7. Even as Pacquiao continued to promote his Nike range of products his fourth appearance on the popular ABC late night show of Jimmy Kimmel where excerpts of his recording of the hit song ?Sometimes When We Touch? with original songwriter/singer Dan Hill and by the same production team that recorded the hit single, has paid off handsomely. Kababayan LA 18 host, Jannelle So reported that the recording on Amazon.com and Itunes sold out quickly and more DVDs are being rolled off the production line in response to the demand. Earlier this week Pacquiao and 24/7 Card announced the signing of an exclusive partnership to create an all new financial card designed especially for Filipinos and immigrants in the US and around the world. The 24/7 card which will be available this summer in the US will offer the convenience of being able to send money home directly from the card.
