MAYOL TO FIGHT IN PACQUIAO – MOSLEY UNDERCARD
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Thu, 14 Apr 2011

Cebu City - Former WBC light flyweight champion Rodel Mayol will leave for the United States tonight after being informed that he will fight in the undercard of the WBO welterweight title fight between Manny Pacquiao and Sugar Shane Mosley in Las Vegas.
Mayol informed philboxing that he was just recently informed by Promoter Rex ‘Wakee’ Salud of this development. He is training here in Cebu at ‘Wakee’ Salud’s Gym for his WBA interim title fight in Thailand against Wisanu Kokietgym this June 3. Mayol also said that he has already informed Promoter Sammy Gello-ani about the sudden change of plans.
It was Sammy Gello-ani who facilitated Mayol’s title shot in Thailand. Mayol said that he was told that the interim lt. flyweight title fight may be moved because the Thai camp really wanted him as an opponent.
Mayol also said that he doesn't know yet who will be his opponent in Las Vegas.
