Pacquiao shakes off jet lag and cold By Eddie Alinea PhilBoxing.com Thu, 07 Apr 2011 With the jet lag fully shaken off and Manny Pacquiao completely adjusted to climate change and time zone, trainer Freddie Roach expressed confidence the world welterweight champion?s training to go smoothly and in full throttle starting Thursday and on to the final four weeks in Los Angeles. ?Manny looked fully rested today during our routine regimen in the gym,? Roach said after Wednesday?s (Thursday in Manila) session at the Wild Card Gym he owned in downtown Hollywood. Roach disclosed the ?Fighter of the Decade? was still suffering from cold he contacted in his three-week stint in Baguio City but added there?s nothing to worry about as it was caused by frequent change of temperature he experienced in coming down to hot Manila weather last weekend to much colder L.A. weather when Team Pacquiao arrived last Saturday. ?That?s usual when one is exposed to mixture of sudden changes of weather from hot-to-cold-to hot again and then cold again,? he explained. ?Remember, while in Baguio, he went down to Manila to receive an award, then back to Baguio to resume training only to go down again to prepare for departure to the U.S.? ?But he?ll settle down completely. He?s taking medication and we still have a long way to go. The Pacman fights three-time division champion and future Hall of Famer ?Sugar? Shane Mosley with his WBO crown at stake on May 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Despite another busy day of doing the mitts with Roach, shadow boxing, working the big bag, double end and speed balls and conditioning exercises under coach Alex Ariza, Pacquiao even gladly obliged to pose for photos and sign autographs with numerous fans after his afternoon session in the gym. Pacquiao told Malaya Business Insights. Tens of fans, many of them taking day-off from their jobs waiting outside of the gym fronting the Thai restaurant where Pacquiao and members of his team take their snacks after each training session has been a familiar sight at the Wild Card vicinity ever since the Filipino ring icon joined the Roach boxing stable some 10 years back. Pacquiao said.
