SYLVESTER LOPEZ TITLE DEFENSE ON IBC TONIGHT

The WBC super flyweight title defense of Sylvester ?Silver? Lopez against Juan Jose ?Goofy? Montes of Mexico will be telecast at 8:00 p.m. today over IBC 13.
The fight also served as a title eliminator.
The telecast was made possible by promoter Gabriel ?Bebot? Elorde Jr and will be aired on Viva S ports popular boxing show ?The Main Event?.
The 23 year old Lopez, a prot?g? of Elorde won the title with an 8th round TKO over Jong Nam Park of Korea on April 5, 2009 and successfully defended the crown against Katsumi Makiyama of Japan via a 5th round TKO on November 28, 2009.
21 year old Montes, the WBC Youth world super flyweight champion won the title with a 2nd round knockout over Jose Salgado on October 3, 2009 and beat Filipino Fernando Lunacad in a lopsided ten round decision to retain the title on November 28, 2009.
In his last fight on June 19, 2010 ?Goofy? Montes scored a 4th round TKO over another Filipino, Richard Garcia.
The Lopez-Montes fight was held at the Coliseo Olympico in Guadalajara, Mexico.
