Cuello all set to battle Rachman By Eddie Alinea PhilBoxing.com Wed, 22 Sep 2010 Filipino international mini-flyweight champion Denver Cuello battles top WBC minimum-weight contender Muhammad Rachman of Indonesia Sunday in his bid to earn a crack at the world 105 lb division title at the Mindanao State University gymnasium in Iligan City. A win by the 23-year-old native of Cabatuan town in Iloilo in the 10-round scuffle will catapult him as the no. 1 challenger besides assuring him of a chance to fight for the world crown. Cuello who snatched the 105-pound title from Japanese Hiroshi Matsimoto April of last year, has so far undefeated in his last six fighs since that win held at the Araneta Coliseum and has been installed more than a 50-50-chance to hurdle Rachman Said six-straight victory raised his professional ring record to 21-4-5 win-loss-draw with 12 knockouts leading handler Aljoe Jaro to predict another stoppage triumph by his boy over the tough Indonesian. Cuello himself said he?s ready for the fight, adding he wIll rely on his speed and punching power to score an impressive win. ?Dalawang buwan po akong naghanda sa labang ito at palagay ko?y kaya ko namang ipanalo ito para mabigyan ako ng karangalang makalaban sa kampeonato sa mundo,? Cuelo said in a separate interview after a press conference held at the GMA Network Broadcast Center in Quezon City . Rachman though is no pushover having once held the IBF minimumweight crown for three years before losing to Filipino Florante Condes of Romblon. ?Nakita ko na po ang ilang laban niya at kumbaga ay nasaulo ko na ang mga weakness niya, ? Cuello fifth of a brood of six of father Demetrio, a printing press employee and mother Irene, an elementary school teacher in Cabatuan said The Cuello-Rachman duel this Saturday will be aired on GMA Network at A.M Sunday.
