Taguig boxing clinic starts

THE much-awaited amateur boxing clinic of the Taguig Sports Clinics has already started at the Marcelino Baseball Stadium.
“Only 50 were allowed per session. But there were walk-ins, so earlier we had 68 students,” said boxing consultant Glenford Rafa.
The coaching staff are composed of coaches Mark Lontayao, Ab Madid, Muhammad Madid, Jhonel Lastimosa, John Lowel Lastimosa, Jojo Lastimosa, Jun Lastimosa and Bing Victoria, head of boxing of Sports Development Office.
“Don’t wait for greatness. Train for it,” said Rafa.
The clinic is participated in by boys and girls 18 years old and below.
“We produced 2 golds, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes medals at the NCR meet,” said Rafa.
The sports clinic will end on June 1.
“Maybe we can get another Batang Pinoy,” said Rafa.
“Very supportive and really has a long-term plan,” said Rafa.
Aside from boxing, the other sports clinics are for Arnis, badminton, baseball, chess, football, karatedo, padel, table tennis, taekwondo, pencak silat, pickleball, sikaran, softball, swimming, wrestling, basketball and volleyball.
The Taguig Sports Clinics Season 2 is sponsored by Mayor Lani Cayetano and organized by the Sports Development Office.
“Future champions start here!” said Rafa.
