Masangkay loses by 6th round TKO

PEPITO Masangkay of Davao lost by 6th round technical knockout to Japanese Mikyo Watarai last night at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
Masangkay fought against Watarai in the first five rounds at close range.
He suffered a right wound in the 6th round forcing the referee to stop the fight.
It was Masangkay’s third loss against eight wins while Watarai improved his record to 7th win against one loss and 5th knockout.
Masangkay was accompanied by trainer-coach Nonoy Neri and Tokyo-based Rey Loreto, former IBF World light flyweight champion.
