2024 Kiddies Chess Championships today

Manila---The 2024 Kiddies Open Rapid Chess Championships gets underway today, Saturday, May 4 at the - Robinsons Lipa in Lipa City, Batangas.
A total of 100 competitors will see action in the over-the-board chess tournament organized by a 1000 Grandmasters group.
The tournament sponsored by 1000 Grandmasters group has a P2,500 cash prize for the champion woodpusher while the second placer gets P2,000, and the third placer receives P1,000. The fourth placer will pocket P800, and P700 for the fifth placer.
Leading the list of contenders in the tournament are Neil Allen Rubial, Glaiza Celine Romero, Khent Lheiam Sinoaya, Marion Kyros Caraan, David Marcus Badillo and Rodolfo Benito Dimayuga.-Marlon Bernardino-
