Today's Games Featured Potential Playoff, Play-in Pairings in East, West

PhilBoxing.com

Today's games saw potential pairings for the playoffs in the West with current #4 Sacramento Kings taking on current #5 Los Angeles Clippers and current #3 Milwaukee Bucks battling the current #5 but potentially slipping to #6 Philadelphia 76ers in the East.

There were also a couple of potential play-in matches with current #6 but potentially #7 or even #8 Phoenix Suns clashing against current #10 or potentially #9 Los Angeles Lakers and current $3 but potentially #1 or #2 Denver going up against current #9 Golden State Warriors.

Results of the potential playoff and play-in pairings saw the Kings beating the Clippers 123-109, the Bucks manhandling the Sixers, 119-98, the Suns winning over the Lakers, 123-113 and the Nuggets whipping the Warriors, 119-103.

The results especially in the potential playoffs are not conclusive though as both of the losing teams were without vital pieces to their whole: The Clippers were missing Paul George for this game and the Sixers were still without their superstar center Joel Embiid for a long time now making their skid to #6 highly possible.

The Kings had their starters plus a reliever in double figures led by D'Aaron Fox (33), Harrison Barnes (22) and center Domantas Sabonis (17). Norman Powell led the Clippers with 21 and the pair of Kawhi Leonard and James Harden scoring 20 points each.

With only Paul Reed to contend against, the Bucks bigs of Giannis Antetokoumpo, Brooks Lopez and Bobby Portis frolicked in the paint and on the outside as Damien Lillard and Malik Beastley providing scoring sock.

The same is true in the Suns vs Lakers who played minus their main big man Anthony Davis. The Suns simply had too much firepower for Lebron James and company.

The Warriors were complete and so were the Nuggets but Golden State had no answer to Nikola Jokic's size and firepower which was even compounded by the shooting and heads up plays of Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon, among other Nuggets fielded in.
