Jomar Mendoza Pascua Chess Cup 2023 gets underway Aug. 26

MANILA---THE Jomar Mendoza Pascua Chess Cup 2023 is set to unfold on Saturday, August 26, from 11:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Robinsons Galleria, EDSA corner Ortigas Avenue, Quezon City.
Pascua and National Chess Federation of the Philippines board of directors Martin "Binky" Gaticales, are expected to deliver their inspirational messages to the participants.
The one-day Swiss System format competition welcomes participants of all ages, from children to adults with Rapid Rating 2000 and below.
Some 100 woodpushers are expected to see action in the 7 Rounds Swiss System event using the 15 minutes plus 3 seconds increment time control format.
The champion will win a trophy and a cash prize of P5,000 plus P400 gift certificate, while the runner-up will receive P3,000 and a medal. The third placer will take home P2,000 as the fourth and fifth placers will each pocket P1,500 and P1,000, respectively. Sixth to tenth placers will go home P500 each.
Gift Certificate awaits to the top kiddie, junior, lady and college.
