By Marlon Bernardino PhilBoxing.com Fri, 07 Apr 2023

After winning against India coupled with the loss of Korea against Japan, the RP Blu Girls have assured themselves of a top 4 finish in the ongoing Asia Cup, securing a World Cup berth in the process.
"I'm so proud of these girls, they really trained hard for this and has fought with all their heart in each game. This is a huge accomplishment given that this is an All-Filipina team, the first in 9 years. We at ASAPHIL will ensure that they get the preparations and exposure they need to be battle ready against the world's best in the World Cup in July.", said a beaming ASAPHIL President Jean Henri Lhuillier.
The RP Blu Girls were battling World Number 2 Japan as of presstime but regardless of the result, they"re set to battle for bronze with either Chinese-Taipei or China. The Blu Girls lost to both teams in the eliminations and they are aching to get back at their tormentors in the battle for bronze.
"We are elated with securing the World Cup slot which was our target at the start of the tournament. But we will go for a podium finish and I believe the team can do it," said RP Blu Girls Coach Randy Dizer.
Should the RP Blu Girls pull off a win in the bronze medal match, they 'll be bracketed with host Ireland, Australia, Botswana, Great Britain and United States of America in the World Cup in July.
Should they lose in the bronze medal match in the ongoing Asia Cup, they"ll be bracketed with host Italy, Canada, New Zealand, and Venezuela in the World Cup in July.
Nine teams are participating in the ongoing Asia Cup namely World Number 2 Japan, number 3 Chinese-Taipei, number 13 China, Number 30 South Korea, number 35 Philippines, number 42 Singapore, Thailand, HongKong and India.-Marlon Bernardino-
