UNDEFEATED world-ranked light flyweight Mark “Rasta Mac” Vicelles of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat will take on veteran Jaysever “Lion Hearted” Abcede of Bukidnon in the “Kumbati 13” show on June 17 at the Parkmall in Mandaue City, Cebu.
It is the 10-round main event of Omega Sports Promotions.
“I’m OK now and I’m ready,” said Vicelles.
The 26-year-old Vicelles said that “Abcede is a good boxer.”
“He is a good boxer and really fights in the latest fights as well,” said Vicelles.
He sparred with team mates Christian Araneta (21-2-0, 17KOs) and Benny Cañete (5-0, 4KOs). Vicelles is currently 117 pounds, just seven pounds over the fighting weight.
Vicelles is now ranked No. 2 by the World Boxing Organization (WBO), No. 4 by the International Boxing Federation (IBF), No. 4 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and No. 12 by the World Boxing Association (WBA).
He just needs to keep winning if he wants to maintain his lofty rankings and earn a world title shot.
Vicelles is coming off an easy first round technical knockout win of former world title challenger Richard Claveras March 26 in Mandaue City.
Abcede, on the other hand, is also fresh from stopping Jay R Tulinan last March 20, 2022 in Misamis Oriental.
The 27-year-old Abcede, who is ranked No. 21 by the WBC, has 21 wins, 10 loses with 13 knockouts.
