THE first Dover (Sikwate Boys) Cup also dubbed as the 37th Kadayawan National Mixed Trio Open Invitational Bowling tournament will be held on Aug. 19 to 21 at Dover Lanes in Davao City.
“It is a six game series with top three up the ladder,” said Bong Vergara of Dover Lanes.
The champion will receive P50,000 and a trophy while the second and third will get P30,000 and P20,000, respectively with trophies.
The highest team score will earn P3,000 while the highest individual scores in male and female each get P2,000. Registration fee is P5,000.
“A team can be composed of at least two males and one female player. But a team can also be two females and one male or all females,” said Vergara.
A personal ball is allowed. A female bowler should be positioned as a middle thrower in case there are two males and one female player.
“The highest combination is ABC or BBB,” said Vergara.
The classification is based on the PHIDBC master list in 2018.
“Any player who is not in the list will be classified either class B or C by the tournament director,” said Vergara.
Each game will be played within one hour and 10 minutes. After which all score sheets will be collected and the remaining frames that are not played shall have a 7,8 scored simultaneously.
There will be an extension of time if the machines they played are malfunctioning.
“The top three teams will vie for the championship round in which the no. 1 team will have a twice to beat advantage,” said Vergara.
The singles events for male and female will be played on August 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. while the championship round will be at 2:30 p.m.
