Terentiev Drops, Defeats Plotnikov, Claims WBA ASIA 154 Belt in Moscow
By Carlos Costa PhilBoxing.com Sun, 27 Dec 2020

Russian 154-pounder Evgeny Terentiev (17-3, 8 KO’s) of Saint Petersburg dropped and outclassed more-experienced Ukrainian warrior Viktor Plotnikov (33-10, 15 KO’s) to conquer the vacant WBA ASIA Super Welterweight Title on Christmas Eve at the USC Soviet Wings in Moscow Russia.
From the onset of battle, the more resourceful Terentiev, 28, made excellent use of his speed and superior boxing skills from a southpaw stance to confuse and command the Ukrainian fighter who never had any solid weaponry in his combat arsenal to effectively make a dent into Terentiev’s dominance.
The most exciting moment of the clash unfolded during the heated action of chapter 5 when a well-timed attack thrown by Terentiev rocked the tough Plotnikov down to the mat; but the strong man from Lviv survived the onslaught and eventually ended up the battle on his feet.
As a final result, the three ringside judges submitted wide margins in favor of the more talented Evgeny Terentiev with numbers as far apart as 100-88 (twice) and 99-89.
The third man in the ring was Yury Koptsev of Moscow.
The show, which closed Russia’s boxing calendar for 2020, was a another production of Shamir Petrossian, head of Moscow’s Shamo Boxing, live in Russia on Match TV.
