ANCAJAS HITS L.A.
By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sat, 19 Oct 2019

IBF world super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas arrived in Los Angeles Friday night ahead of his world title fight against Jonathan Javier Rodriguez of Mexico on Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Dignity Health Sports Complex in Carson, California.
Ancajas (31-1-2, 21KOs) will try to defend his world title for the 8th time against Rodriguez. He first won the title against Puerto Rican McJoe Arroyo on Sep. 3, 2016 in Makati, Philippines and had defended it seven times since the last one against Ryuichi Funai of Japan last May in Oakland, California.
Rodriguez (21-1-0, 15KOs) will be fighting for a world title for the first time after accumulating an impressive record. His last victory was a knockout win over former world title challenger Felipe Orucuta. The only blot in his record was a split decision loss against compatriot Jose Martin Estrada Garcia on March 1, 2018 but he racked up five straight victories since all inside the distance except one.
