NBA - - Rockets crash in Minnesota, 103-91 By Daniel Quindao Guden PhilBoxing.com Tue, 04 Dec 2018 ![]() MINNEAPOLIS - Wearing their 1990s black throwback jerseys, the Minnesota Timberwolves erased a 14-point halftime deficit and crushed and the Houston Rockets, 103-91 at the Target Center on Monday night. It was a concerted effort for the Wolves whose starting five produced double figures in points led by Karl-Anthony towns with 24 points and 11 rebounds, Andrew Wiggins shared 16, Taj Gibson fired 15 with 11 boards, Jeff Teague netted 14, Robert Covington contributed 13 plus reserved forward Dario Saric pitched in 12. Reigning NBA MVP James Harden led the losing Rockets with 29 points, Clint Capela had 24, Eric Gordon 10 off the bench, while ace playmaker Chris Paul was held to five points in 36 minutes. PJ Tucker pocketed just three points in 37 minutes. After a 24-all tie to end the opening quarter, the Rockets zoomed to 62-48 at the bend. In the third quarter, however, the Wolves clamped down on defense and handcuffed the Rockets 38-20 to gain the upperhand. They closed it in the fourth quarter where they outscored Houston, 17-9. Saric exploded 3-for-4 from the rainbow territory, Covington, Wiggins and Teague had two 3-pointer each, while Towns had one. Local television newscaster Kate Raddatz of WCCO Channel-4 (CBS) sang the National Anthem while famous American rapper, actor, chef and record producer Artis Leon Ivey Jr. aka Coolio, performed the halftime show.
