Playing white, GM Gonzales, ranked Sergeant, punished International Master Barlo Nadera, ranked Sergeant and the team captain of Airforce, for his middle game mistakes and carved out a 39-move victory of a Double Fianchetto Opening on top board while First Lieutenant Rivera, showed superb endgame technique to turn a marathon 77-move triumph over Captain Delfin Bolla. The Philippine National Police backed up by PSSUPT Jonnel Estomo, coaches SPO3 Jomes Mendoza Pascua and SPO1 Renato "Buboy" Abalos,meanwhile blasted no show Philippine Navy, 12-0. PNP bets are National Master Ali Branzuela, National Master Rolando Andador, Jerry Tolentino, Leandro Macasinag,Ruvillo Paulin, PSI Horizon Villanueva,PSUPT Jaime Santos, PSUPT Antonieto Canete, PINSP Ronald Agabao and PCINSP Christopher Muego.
