Complete Results from Bacoor Cavite: Ambo Decisions Ligas To Claim LUZPROBA-118 Belt; Andales Outpoints Lausa

PhilBoxing.com

BACOOR, Cavite -- In an exciting non-stop action-packed battle, unbeaten Joseph Ambo (8-0-1, 4 KO's) of Pangasinan dealt tough Caloocan warrior Ben Ligas of the Elorde Gym his first defeat by outpointing him in a tight majority decision win to claim the vacant LUZPROBA-118 belt Saturday night (June 23) at Quibors Boxing Gym in Bacoor City, Cavite, Philippines.

Both fighters had their moments throughout the intense, close 8-rounder, a fact reflected in the official score cards 77-75 (twice) and 76-76. At the end, the fighter celebrating victory was Joseph Ambo of the ATA Boxing Stable of Tayug Pangasinan, and he is ready for rougher battles. The ref in charge of the action was Jerrold Tomeldan.

In more boxing action, 18 year-old Waray warrior Rhenrob "ArAr" Andales (pictured in the above image) of Samar won just about all rounds en-route to a wide unanimous decision victory over Lemuel Lausa (1-2, 0 KO's), a strong boxer who trains in the City of Baguio, beautiful Summer Capital of the Philippines.

Scores tell the tale: 60-54 (twice) and 59-55 all for the minimumweight Warai Warrior Andales (6-0, 1 KO) of the Quibors Boxing Stable who is ready for more challenging combats.

In another action-clash, Cagayan del Oro fighter Julbirth Tubiano (5-4, 3 KO's) of the Quibors Boxing Gym blasted out brave Francis Gonzales (2-5-1, 1 KO) of Camerines Sur via round 2 TKO.

Gonzalez began the rumble fighting well, showing acceptable boxing skills while landing a good variety of hands on Tubiano, clearly taking the first round.

Julbirth Tubiano of Quibors Boxing Stable wins by TKO in round 2.

However, the stronger 24 year-old Tubiano, trained by veteran coach Jun Labandia, came out better focused for second chapter, clipping Gonzales with one solid uppercut to the jaw that rocked Gonzalez down to the Quibors Gym mat where the Camerines Sur boxer got counted-out by experienced third man Architect Sir Elmo L. Coloma of Quezon City. Official GAB time of stoppage was 1:51 in round 2.

Also, 20 year-old featherweight Jules Victoriano (9-1, 6 KO's) of Iloilo outclassed rough Gensan-born brawler Landy Cris Leon for stoppage win in 4th chapter as Leon surrender on his corner, not coming out for the next round. Leon had been correctly deducted two points in the opening stanza by referee Jerrold Tomeldan for a clear intentional head butt.

The fight provided additional fighting experience to the tall, skilled, serious Jules Angelo Victoriano, a young fighter of the Alliance Boxing Stable in Pasay City.

In bantamweights, 24 year-old ATA Boxing Stable fighter Jesel Guardario (7-2-1, 3 KO's) of Pangasinan dominated Jayar "The Dominator" Diama (7-14-7, 3 KO's) of Sarangani for an 8-round unanimous decision win. Diama - a boxer of the Hardstone Boxing Stable of Valenzuela City - was deducted a point during the action of round seven for repeated rabbit punches. The referee was Alfie Jocosol.

Quibido Ravaged soft Oponent via round 1 TKO.

Moreover, "The Tornado" Denmark Quibido (7-0, 5 KO's) brought his damaging winds upon the very limited Dexter Dimaculangan (3-18-5, 1 KO) of San Pablo, Laguna. So brutal was the huge uppercut on the face of Dexter that worrisome amounts of blood immediately poured down the nose of the brave Dexter, a fighter who has lost all his last 14 fights, with only 3 wins in 23 fights.

The question in the mind of boxing fans is: "Would Quibido look as a dangerous as he did if pitted against a man of a higher fighting caliber?" Time will tell.

And the action continued in Bacoor, Cavite, as 20 year-old Cagayan de Oro fighter Francis Jay Diaz (5-1-1, 0 KO's) of the Quibors Boxing Gym narrowly outpointed Bacolod-born Paolo Sy (2-2-1, 1 KO) of the Hardstone Boxing Gym for a close, hard-fought six-round majority decision win.

Both fighters visibly put their hearts and their best effort throughout the thrilling blow-by-blow, mid-of-the-ring, action-packed battle, one of the very best of the evening. As a result, scores were close: 58-56 (twice) and 57-57, a majority verdict for the winner Francis Jay Diaz, and fans would like a rematch. The third man in charge of the action was the flawless and elegant Sir Elmo L. Coloma.

In addition, 24 year-old bantamweight Kevin Aseniero (7-2, 4 KO's) of Cagayan de Oro ravaged the brave but limited Ernisto "Ernie" Mino Jr (4-12-3, 0 KO's) of the Sports Academy of Camarines Sur, rocking Mino down to the canvas, totally dismantling him for a round two TKO win.

Asiniero scores round 2 TKO over Ernisto Mino Jr.

Overall, Aseniero had the better boxing skills and made good use of his overhead right, which he employed with success to overpower Ernisto Mino. This knockout triumph brings the ATA boxer Aseniero back to the winning circle after two back-to-back loses. The ref for the fast skirmish was Alfie Jocosol.

Kristian Hernandez of Empire Boxing Gym Wins by TKO in round 3.

In the first bout of the intense evening of boxing, welterweight "Heavy Boogie" Kristian Hernandez (2-0, 2 KO), was indeed too big and six pounds heavier than Gensan win-less boxer Janie Canoy (0-6, 0 KO's), victimizing him over three rounds, stopping him for a TKO win. Official GAB time was 1:44 in round 3 Canoy of the Fit & Feet Boxing Gym was overpowered, but showed his lion heart by taking on a much bigger man.

A total boxing success for the effort of young Cavite promoters Joseph Quibral and Orlando Borcelango. Keep up the good work.
