MMA FANS IN SINGAPORE ROLL WITH UFC WELTERWEIGHTS COWBOY AND EDWARDS PhilBoxing.com Thu, 26 Apr 2018 Singapore ? Close to 50 Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fans in Singapore experienced the opportunity of a lifetime when they took part in an MMA Masterclass with two of the world?s most elite MMA athletes, UFC welterweights Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone and Leon "Rocky" Edwards at Fitness First Capital Tower Sports Performance. The welterweight headliners were in town for the ticket on-sale launch of UFC? Fight Night Singapore: Cowboy vs Edwards presented by AirAsia, the first of three annual Fight Night Singapore events by the UFC. During the sessions held at Fitness First Capital Tower Sports Performance, fans were given a taste of what life as a professional athlete in the UFC was like as they went through a series of HIIT exercises, learnt ground basics, grappling routines and striking and kicking techniques from the UFC stars themselves. The initiative is one of many that the world?s premium MMA organization, UFC has planned for fans in Singapore and the region as they look to grow MMA as a sport across all levels. Commenting on the session Kevin Chang, UFC Vice President, Asia Pacific, said, "It?s great to see such an overwhelming response from fans in Singapore. The popularity of the UFC and MMA as a sport is undeniable. We always strive to put our fans first and give them opportunities to meet and interact with their favourite MMA stars. Today was an example of that and we are thrilled to have the support of Fitness First, which has allowed us to bring the sport closer to fans here in Singapore. We look forward to bringing more opportunities to our loyal supporters in the lead up to UFC Fight Night Singapore on 23 June". Sharing his experience, ardent UFC fan and Fitness First member Aiden Gan said, "This was truly an experience I will never forget.
