NBA -- Kevin Durant shines in Kobe's jersey retirement night

LOS ANGELES -- Kevin Durant stole some of the thunder in Kobe Bryant's jerseys retirement night on Monday as the Golden State Warriors disposed the Los Angeles Lakers in overtime, 116-114 at a jampacked Staples Center.
Durant missed 18 of 29 field goals, but he made the one that mattered most, a 22-foot jumper in the final 7.3 seconds of play which put the Warriors ahead for good. Durant finished with 36, points and added 11 rebounds and 8 assists to his haul.
Klay Thompson had four triples and 17 points while Omer Casspi added 14 points for Golden State, which made 43 of 107 shots and 11 triples. The Warriors outrebounded the Lakers, 61-45.
Kyle Kuzma led Los Angeles with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Brandon Ingram had 19 points. Lonzo Ball finished with 16 points and 6 assists while Julius Randle contributed 15 markers an 11 boards.
With their ninth in a row, the Warriors improved to 24-6, second-best in the Western Conference behind the streaking Houston Rockets who have won 14 straight and own a 25-4 slate. The Lakers dropped to 10-18 for 11th place in the West.
