LOS ANGELES -- The Golden State Warriors went off to a roaring start on Tuesday night, opening the Western Conference semifinals with a one-sided 106-94 victory over the Utah Jazz at the Oracle Arena.
After a week's off following their sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers in Round 1, the Warriors started Game 1 on a 9-0 run and never looked back. They led 58-46 at halftime and cruised to a 1-0 lead in this best-of-7 series.
Two-time MVP Steph Curry tallied 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting. Kevin Durant and Draymond Green chipped in 17 each, Klay Thompson added 15 and Zaza Pachulia finished with 10. Golden State's bench accounted for 25.
Robert Gobert scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds to pace the Jazz. Joe Johnson had 11 and the team's All-Star Gordon Hayward struggled with just 12 points.
Game 2 returns to the Oracle Arena on Thursday night (Friday AM in Manila).
