NBA - - Timberwolves ground Rockets, 119-105

MINNEAPOLIS - Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns combined
for 51 points to beat the visiting Houston Rockets, 119-105, Wednesday night at the Target Center.
The Wolves, who played without Zach LaVine (left hip contusion), got a huge lift from Andrew Wiggins, who stepped up his game big-time.
Wiggins scored 15 of his 28 points in the opening quarter, setting the stage for Minnesota to dictate the tempo and take an early 30-23 advantage. Karl Anthony-Towns also played well, finishing with 23 points, 18 rebounds and 5 dimes.
Minnesota's point guard, Ricky Rubio, had a modest 10 points but he recorded a career-high 17 assists.
Brandon Rush started in behalf of LaVine and made the most of the opportunity by drilling four 3s. ,Shabazz Muhammad chipped in 20 points off the bench.
James Harden led the Rockets with 33 points and 12 assists. Ryan Anderson had 18 while Trevor Ariza accounted for 16.
The victory was sweet revenge for Timberwolves, who lost to the Rockets (111-109) in overtime last December 17 at the Target Center.
OVERTIME. Some 13, 858 fans were in attendance and got a treat to witness the Wolves' back-to-back win.
The Minnesota Timberwolves which is 13th in the Western Conference (13-26} stay home to host Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder (24-16) on Friday night while the Houston Rockets (31-10) heads home and will host the Memphis Grizzlies (24-17).
