JUAREZ STOPS ALBERT PAGARA IN 8TH, CALLS OUT DONAIRE FOR A REMATCH By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sun, 10 Jul 2016 SAN MATEO, CA -- Cesar Juarez of Mexico came from behind to knock out 'Prince' Albert Pagara of the Philippines in the 8th round to wrest Albert's WBO Inter-Continental super bantamweight belt and immediately calls out for a rematch with former tormentor Nonito Donaire Jr who was at ringside where he accepted Juarez's challenge in the main event of 'Pinoy Pride 37: Fists of the Future' at the San Mateo Event Center here Saturday night (Sunday morning in Manila). Juarez came out raining punches as soon as the first bell rung that momentarily unsettled Pagara but towards the middle of the round Pagara settled down and found his rhytm. A beautiful left counter by Pagara that connected to Juarez's chin sent Juarez to the canvas towards the end of the round. In the second round, Juarez connected with his jabs but Pagara maintained good distance and scored with well-time counters to get the round. Juarez continued to pursue Pagara in the third as Pagara scored with counters but Juarez also had his moments in the round. Pagara downs Juarez in the first round. Albert being attended to by the medics after the fight. Pagara boxed beautifully in the first two minutes of the 4th round but Juarez pinned Pagara towards the rope as the round got to a close and scored with combinations. Juarez gets the fifth round as Pagara slows down a bit pinning Pagara in the ropes in spots. Juarez continued to stalk Pagara in the sixth round but Pagara had his moments and connected with his counters. In the seventh, Juarez had some success pinning Pagara in the ropes and connected heavily as Pagara tried to fight back toe to toe. As the round ended Pagara appeared spent and wobbly. As the 8th round bell rung, Juarez jumped on the attacked and hit Pagara with a barrage of punches backing up Pagara to his corner and finally went down due to a combination of Juarez's punches and exhaustion. Pagara spent a considirable time in the canvas and was brought to a hospital. Pagara suffered his first defeat in 27 fights while Juarez is now looking for a rematch with Donaire.
