NBA -- Kobe drops 27 as Lakers trip Pelicans, 99-96

NEW ORLEANS -- Party night in New Orleans, Mardi Gras Carnival once again, the Krewe of Muses rolled with Solange Knowles as the honorary muse and visiting the Pelicans is the Lakers crew led by the future Hall of Fame guard, Kobe Bryant playing his second-to-last game in the Big Easy.
It turned out to be a tough loss for the New Orleans Pelicans as they finished they fell, 99-96, at the Smoothie King Center.
?We came up to a slow start. We can?t allow ourselves to get out and start like this especially when we?re at home. It wasn?t enough to get the job done tonight.?
Pelicans All-Star Anthony Davis said during the post-game interview.
Davis was last night?s player of the game posted his ninth game of 30-plus points for this season. He finished with 39 points and 11 rebounds.
?We didn?t defend like we have been. Offensively we played pretty selfish. We didn?t play the game like we?re supposed to be. It doesn?t matter who it is, it could be the Lakers of the Golden State.? Pelicans head coach, Alvin Gentry.
Ryan Anderson highlighted the game with his one-handed hammer slam with authority who contributed 17 points. Jrue Holiday tallied 19 points and Bryce De-jean Jones added 17 points.
Lakers led by Kobe Bryant with 27 points and 11 rebounds, Jordan Clarkson finished with 18 points and Julius Randle added 11 points.
