PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Jul 2015 LOS ANGELES (July 9) - Mexican boxer and former WBC Lightweight Champion Rodolfo "El Gato" Gonzalez and California Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee Gabriel Ruelas will join 1984 Olympic Gold Medalists Paul Gonzales and Henry Tillman at a special Boxing Legends Fan Meet and Greet held at the public Corona Fan Fiesta celebrationin downtown Los Angeles from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the East Side Square (facing Figueroa St.) at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on Saturday, July 11. Fans will also be able to meet some of Golden Boy Promotions' champions like IBF Super Bantamweight Champion Randy "El Matador" Caballero, USNBC Light Heavyweight Champion Vyacheslav "Lion Heart - Chingonsky" Shabranskyy and the next generation of rising stars at the daytime fan celebration. Local favorites include: Oscar Negrete, Carlos Morales, Rafael Gramajo, and Emilio Sanchez, who will be on hand starting at 1:30 p.m.; Julian Ramirez, Abraham Lopez, Roy Tapia, and Everton Lopes, and Vyacheslav Shabranskyy who will be present beginning at 2:30 p.m.; and Randy Caballero, Antonio Orozco, D'mitrius Ballard, Lamont Roach Jr., and Kevin Rivers, who will be at the celebration starting at 4:30 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come out to The Corona Fan Fiesta, admission is free, and partake in pre-event festivities including the Boxing Legends and Golden Boy fighters meet and greet, autograph signings, live music, food trucks, a special Corona-sponsored beer garden, and much more. The pre-celebration will kick off a highly anticipated night of fights featuring a main event 10-round super lightweight bout for the vacant NABF title between Mauricio "El Maestro" Herrera (21-5, 7 KOs) and "Hammerin" Hank Lundy" (25-4-1, 12 KOs), as well as exhilarating bouts matching up some of the fastest-rising talent in the sport today. Fans attending the fight will be in great company as Los Angeles fighters "Schoolboy" Bobby Chacon and Danny "Little Red" Lopez will return to the Los Angeles Sports Arena as spectators to enjoy a stellar card culminating with Herrera vs. Lundy on Saturday night. Chacon and Lopez met for a monumental fight in 1974 before a sellout crowd. Chacon, 22-years-old at the time, defeated Lopez, then 21-years-old, in a ninth-round technical knockout that had a lasting impression on boxing fans. Both fighters went on to win world championships and boast highly successful careers.
