NBA -- Spurs rebound from Knicks' upset, handle Bucks, 114-103 By Anthony Rozic PhilBoxing.com Fri, 20 Mar 2015 MILWAUKEE -- After a shocking 104-100 overtime loss to the lowly New York Knicks on Tuesday night, the San Antonio Spurs rebounded nicely on Wednesday and handled the Milwaukee Bucks, 114-103, at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Led by Danny Green's 20 points, six Spurs scored in double figures. Tim Duncan had 19 and 7 assists, Boris Diaw tallied 18 and 6 boards while Tony Parker pumped in 15. Kawhi Leonard and Marco Belinelli registered 14 and 11 points, respectively. After trailing early, 20-14 and 28-27 at the end of the opening quarter, the Spurs took control with a 36-point second quarter outburst that gave the defending champions a comfortable 63-54 halftime lead. San Antonio put more pressure in the third quarter and increased their advantage to 81-64 following a Duncan layup with 5:54 to go before the final period. The Bucks never got closer than nine points the rest of the way. "It's just basketball, not magic. You have to do things consistently and well more than the other team for the 48 minutes," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich told reporters during his post-game press conference. Despite being outrebounded, 43-34, San Antonio also had fewer assists, 28-27. But the Spurs shot the ball better -- 50 percent from the field against Milwaukee's 48.8 percent clip. The Spurs made more triples, 8-7. Six Bucks also notched double figures in points but it wasn't enough for Milwaukee to prevent losing its fourth straight assignment. Giannis "The Greak Freak" Antentokounmpo soared for 19 points and 9 boards and Ersan Ilyasova accounted for 17 and 6 rebounds. ZaZa Pachulia had 15 and Jerryd Bayless added 12. Michael Carter-Williams made only 3 of 9 field goals to finish with 11. With a 42-25 record, the Spurs, ranked 7th in the Western Conference, widened their lead to 4 1/2 games over 8th placer OKC Thunder. Despite what is now a four-game slide, the Bucks remained at 6th place in the Eastern Conference, but the 31-36 Miami Heat are closing in while the 30-37 Boston Celtics, who occupy 8th place, is just 3 1/2 games behind.
