PALICTE, TWO OTHER PINOYS SEE ACTION IN MACAU TONIGHT By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Sat, 07 Mar 2015 Palicte. MACAU ? Three Filipinos will see action on the undercard of the Zou Shiming vs Amnat Ruenroeng IBF flyweight title bout tonight at The Venetian's CotaiArena headed by Cebuano knockout artist Aston Palicte who will face Ismael Garnica of Mexico City in a scheduled 10-round super flyweight bout. The other two are Michael Enriquez of Cagayan de Oro City who will face undefeated Hong Kong star Rex Tso in a scheduled 10-round WBA international super flyweight title bout and Raymond Sermona of Bacolod City who takes on Jose Felix Jr of Los Mochis, Mexico in a scheduled 6-round super welterweight contest The power-punching Palicte (16-1-0, 14KO) who is fighting under the MP Promotions banner, has been informed of the Garnica fight in less than three weeks. ?But we are always ready to fight anytime because we are always in training and in good condition,? Palicte told Philboxing. ?As soon as we knew about the fight, coach Rey and Nonoy [Neri] immediately devised a plan on how we are going to approach the fight,? Palicte, who had a string of five 1st round knockout victories in his last five fights, told Philboxing after the weighing Friday. Fighting for the first time outside the Philippines, Palicte said he is treating Saturday's fight against Garnica, who has a record of 13-5-1 with 5 knockouts, very seriously. ?This is a very important fight for me because with the international audience, this fight is the type of fight that I will be widely known. I want to impress in tomorrow's fight,? Palicte said. Palicte came in at 116 lbs while Garnica stepped the scales at 117 lbs during Friday's weighin. Palicte (L) and Garnica during Friday's weighin. Michael Enriquez (R) looks to give Hong Kong's Rex Tso a run for his money Saturday night. Enriquez (10-2-1, 6KO) is expected to have a tough assignment against the highly popular Tso (15-0-0, 9KO), who had just signed with Top Rank last Thursday and Saturday's win against Enriquez for the regional WBA belt will catapult Tso to be in a position to fight against world champion Kohei Kono of Japan, as promised to him by Top Rank boss Bob Arum. Enriquez, however, was not coming to be a sacrificial lamb for slaughter. ?I have prepared for this fight for two months, and I have come here to win,? Enriquez told Philboxing just before he stepped up the scales Friday afternoon. Enriquez informed Philboxing that he had very good sparring sessions with superfly contender Froilan Saludar for almost a hundred rounds, one of his sparring partners, to hone him up for this fight. Sermona (17-4-5, 8KO), on the other hand, is aiming for an upset against power punching Felix Jr (28-1-1, 23KO), who at 22 years old, is being built by its promoter, Top Rank, to be one of its future stars.
