NBA -- Disgruntled Goran Dragic lands in Miami

CHICAGO -- After Wednesday's team practice, Suns point guard Goran Dragic expressed his desire to be traded from Phoenix, telling reporters "I don't trust them anymore."
Wish granted.
On the heels of the NBA's trading deadline on Thursday, February 19, the Suns shipped Dragic and his brother Zoran to the Miami Heat in exchange for veteran Danny Granger, Josh Hamilton, Norris Cole, Shawne Williams and two draft picks.
The Suns, according to a Miami Herald report, then traded Cole, Hamilton and Williams to the New Orleans Pelicans for John Salmons.
Dragic's unhappiness stems from the fact that Phoenix uses multiple guards in their offense, including Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas, who has since been traded to the Boston Celtics.
"Last year was great. This year it's different," said Dragic, whose averages dropped from 20.3 points and 5.9 assist per game last season to 16.2 points and 4.1 assists per game this season.
Standing in the corner, it's not my game," Dragic also told ESPN. "To be a point guard, to run the team and have the ball in my hands and try to make plays for others, that's who I am," said the 28-year old from Slovenia.
The Heat are hoping to sign Dragic to a long-term deal when he becomes a free agent in July. Meanwhile, they hope to count on him to help the 22-30 Heat keep their current 8th place spot in the Eastern Conference and earn a playoffs spot. (Homer D. Sayson)
