NBA -- Nets foil Knicks' rally, hold on to 92-88 win By Ben Paz PhilBoxing.com Sun, 08 Feb 2015 BROOKLYN -- The Brooklyn Nets prevailed over the New York Knicks, 92-88, on Friday night at the Barclays Center. The Nets appeared headed for an easy win, leading by as many as 17 points early, but the Knicks rallied and sliced the deficit to eight by halftime. The Knicks surged in the third quarter eventually gave them the lead at 70-68. The fourth quarter went back and forth until Nets guard Jarrett Jack nailed a 3 that helped seal the win for Brooklyn with 13.8 seconds left. Brooklyn pushed their win streak to three games, previously beating the Los Angeles Clippers and the Toronto Raptors. Brooklyn is now 3-0 in the season series with the Knicks. The Nets are now tied with the Miami Heat for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 21-28 record. Brook Lopez led all scorers 22 points, nine rebounds and six blocks. Jack had 20 points and eight assists while Joe Johnson posted a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kevin Garnett chipped in 12 points. "It's just confidence, poise, and execution. Just doing the things that you need to do" Nets head coach Lionel Hollins said. The Knicks fell to 10-40 and are tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves the worst record in the league this season. Carmelo Anthony had 21 points to lead the Knicks. Veteran Jose Calderon added 15 points and seven assists. Lance Thomas contributed 14 points off the bench. New York shot a paltry 38.2 percent from the field.
