NBA -- Jack saves the day for Brooklyn By Hector Posa PhilBoxing.com Sat, 27 Dec 2014 ![]() CHICAGO -- A Jarrett Jack jumper broke a 104-104 tie with 27 seconds left to play and the Brooklyn Nets escaped the TD Garden in Boston with a slim 109-107 victory over the Celtics on Friday afternoon. Jack finished with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists while starting at point guard for the Nets, who won their third straight assignment to move to 13-15 and 8th place in the Eastern Conference. Alan Anderson backed up Jack with 15 for the Nets and Mason Plumlee added 14 and 12 boards. Mirza Teletovic was the only other Brooklyn cog to notch double figures in points with 11. The Nets somehow made only 7 of their 21 triples but they converted well on two-point field goals, 41 of 83. Holding a 95-84 edge with 8:52 remaining in the final period, the host Celtics looked in pretty good shape, but they couldn't hold off the Nets, who scored 25 the rest of the way. After leading by 7 after three quarters, the Celtics were outscored 30-21 in the last 12 minutes. "That was a good of a shot as you can get at that time," Celtics head coach Brad Stevens told ESPN after forward Brad Sullinger missed short range jumper that could have tied the contest withIt was a sorry loss for Boston, which moved the ball well with 32 team assists and shot the ball at a 51.7 percent rate (45 of 87).
