NBA -- Bucks work the boards for 50 rebounds to thwart Pistons By Dong Secuya PhilBoxing.com Thu, 27 Nov 2014 CHICAGO -- Brandon Knight's leadership at point, OJ Mayo's explosiveness on the wings and Jabari Parker's versatility proved too much for the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night. Knight registered 20 points and eight helpers, Mayo broke through for 18 while Parker had a solid 14 points and nine boards to lead the vastly improved Milwaukee Bucks to a 98-86 triumph at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Center Larry Sanders accounted for 12 and nine rebounds, helping Milwaukee dominate the boards 50-36, including a 19-8 edge on the offensive end. The Bucks improved to 8-7 in the standings, including a healthy 5-2 record on their home turf. A bad road team with a 1-7 slate away from home, the Pistons looked like they would break the mold early by sprinting for 31 points in the opening quarter to open a quick lead. But they managed just 17 in the ensuing quarter and 19 in the third where Milwaukke found its groove and built a 79-67 advantage. Detroit fell to a disappointing 3-11 mark for the season and Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy summed up his frustrations by telling ESPN, "We gave them 19 offensive rebounds, we had 19 turnovers and we were 7 of 17 at the free throw line. They hit 10 3-pointers. Those were the factors in the game. There's really nothing else to talk about." Andre Drummond championed Detroit's losing cause with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Greg Monroe added 15 and eight boards. Josh Smith, the third leg of the Pistons' tall frontline, filled the stats sheet with 11 points, 10 rebounds and eight dimes. (Homer D.
