NBA -- Bucks out last Nets in triple OT, 122-118

PhilBoxing.com

BROOKLYN -- The Milwaukee Bucks needed three overtime periods to dispatch the Brooklyn Nets, 122-118, on Wednesday night at the Barclays Center.

Behind by as many as 11 in regulation, the Bucks rallied back and sent the game into an extra session courtesy of an O.J. Mayo driving lay-up. In the first overtime, with the score tied at 105, Brooklyn took possession with 21.2 seconds left and a chance to win but Joe Johnson turned the ball over while Milwaukee's Brandon Knight missed a wide open lay-up as time expired..

Knight later redeemed himself by sinking a 3 to force a second overtime. He then sank a pair of free throws to seal the deal in the third overtime.

Knight finished with 18 points and eight assists for the Bucks while prized rookie Jabari Parker had a career-high with 23 points. Giannis Antetokounmpo contributed a double-double, 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Mayo added 21 points.

Ersan Illyasova contributed 14 points off of the bench and Milwaukee improved to 7-5 in the standings.

"We had an open layup that was missed but we didn't hang our heads. We got guys that talked to B. Knight (Brandon Knight) and he kept his head up and that's what teammates do," Jason Kidd said after the game.

The Nets have now lost five sraight and dropped to 4-7. Brook Lopez poured in a game-high 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds but also had 7 turnovers. Bojan Bogdanovic tallied 19 points while Deron Williams and Joe Johnson scored 18 apiece and combined for 15 assists.

Jarrett Jack and Mirza Teletovic added 14 each from the bench.

"When you're in a rut like this, you got to do all the little things," Joe Johnson said.

The Nets hope to end their slide in Oklahoma City against the Thunder on Thursday night. Milwaukee, meanwhile, hope to continue its win streak against the Toronto Raptors in Canada on Friday night. (BP)
