Burke's buzzer-beater sinks Knicks By Ben Paz PhilBoxing.com Sun, 16 Nov 2014 ![]() NEW YORK -- Trey Burke hit a fade away jumper as time expired, lifting the Utah Jazz over the New York Knicks, 102-100, on Friday night at Madson Square Garden. The thrilling victory improved Utah's slate to 4-6 while the spiraling Knicks dropped their seventh in a row for a 2-8 record. The depleted Knicks were without Amar'e Stoudemire, who had a recovery day. Iman Shumpert, meanwhile, left 55 seconds into the game with a hip contusion. Andrea Bargnani and Jose Calderon were also out. Gordon Hayward led the Jazz with 33 points, six assists and four steals. Derrick Favors notched a double-double, scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Burke, the man of the hour, accounted for 13 points and six dimes. "Trey (Burke) made a great shot... It was huge for him to hit that. Hopefully that will get him going and give him confidence," a relieved Hayward told reporters after the game. . Carmelo Anthony scored a season high 46 points for New York Pablo Prigioni contributed 13 and four steals. "I was trying to will our way to a win.. It was one of those days where you try to do everything to win the game," Anthony said on tonight's game. Utah heads to Toronto to face the Raptors on Saturday night while the Knicks hope to snap their losing spell against the Nuggets on Sunday at the Madison Square Garden.
