NBA -- Knicks fall flat against the Bucks, 120-107 By Ben Paz PhilBoxing.com Wed, 22 Oct 2014 NEW YORK -- After a fast start and a strong first half, the New York Knicks fell flat in the second half and bowed to the Milwaukee Bucks, 120-107, Monday night at the Madison Square Garden. The Knicks led 61-56 at the turn the Bucks, behind Jared Dudley's 3, rallied in the third period and did not allow the Knicks to regain the lead in the fourth period. O.J. Mayo led Milwaukee with 24 points while Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 14 and 6 rebounds. Four other Bucks contribuuted double figures in points, including 13 and 7 boards from rookie Jabari Parker. The Bucks shot a blazing 59.7% from the field, including a 12-of-24 fare from 3-point range. They also swished 28 of 37 free throws. Carmelo Anthony started the night with a quick jumper on the Knicks' first possession from an assist from Amar'e Stoudemire, who started at center for the first time this preseason. Anthony ended the first half with 17 points, shooting 5 of 12 from the field, 5 assists and 6 rebounds and a couple of steals. Unfortunately, Anthony could not sustain his impressive effort and went on to miss 8 of 10 shots to finish the game. Stoudemire finished with 14 points and six boards while Tim Hardaway Jr pitched in 20 markers. JR Smith added 11 points.. Jose Calderon exited the game only 4 minutes into the game with a strained right calf. Derek Fisher told reporters afterwards that "if this was a regular season game he would have returned." Calderon will be essential as his ball handling and ability to keep the ball moving is key in the triangle offense.
