'POWER VS POWER' EXPLODES TODAY

By Gerry Peñalosa
PhilBoxing.com
23 Jul 2010

This is an invitation to all boxing fans to witness another explosive boxing match aptly titled “Power vs. Power” today, July 23, 2010 at around 6pm at the Mandaluyong Gym as Michael Farenas slugs it out with Indonesian Simson Butar Butar for Southeast Asian boxing dominance in the Featherweight class as the main event. It will be a 10-round hard-hitting boxing fight as these two boxers try to outdo each other through guts, determination and willpower.

As I have already stated in my previous article, both fighters have very impressive record. Michael Farenas has earned the praise of boxing community because of his awesome knock-out punch which gave him a boxing record of 27-3-3 (win-loss-draw) with 24 wins by way of knockout. On the other hand, Farenas’ Indonesian opponent, Simson Butar Butar has been dubbed as “The Executioneer because of his successful campaign against Filipino boxers in the likes of Czar Amonsot and current Philippine champion Vinvin Rufino. The said fighters had suffered hard loss against the Indonesian gladiator by way of knock out.

This game promises excitement, fun and hard core slugfest along with impressive array of undercards from Jay San Pedro’s Tiger City Boxing Stable. The event is sponsored by Mayor Benhur Abalos of Mandaluyong City, Jay San Pedro of JSP Car Clinic and Tiger City Boxing Gym, Mr. Ernesto Yu of Pagoda Philippines and of MarketPlace Mall and Kosuke Washio, my long time Japanese buddy who has been very supportive of Filipino Boxers.

Elmer Anuran’s Saved by the Bell Production will air the said fight on television through Solar Sports for those who will miss the action at Mandaluyong Gym tomorrow July 23, 2010.Saved by the Bell boxing show is broadcasted on Sundays at 3pm.

Boxing is Philippine’s favorite sports and in our Filipino boxers’ quest for dominance not only in Southeast Asia but in the whole world, I am very grateful that the whole Filipino boxing community is ever ready to give their support and prayers to the boxers who are determined to seek fame and glory for Philippines.

Ito po si Gerry Penalosa na di nagsasawang nag aanyaya sa lahat na patuloy na suportahan ang larong boksing. Keep punching everyone!!!
