Another explosive boxing showdown will be witnessed by the people of Mandaluyong City for free on July 23, 2010 as it topbills top Asian boxers Michael Farenas and Simson “The Executioner” Butar Butar in a 10-round boxing match dubbed as Power vs. Power. Farenas is known as a hard hitting boxer. He can floor his opponent in the early rounds of the match. He wants to improve his record of 27-3-3 (win-loss-draw) through this fight and is working very hard building his resistance and firepower. A game plan is already being laid out on how to effectively stop the Indon foe who KO’d Pinoy boxers Czar Amonsot and current Philippine Champion VinVin Rufino. Farenas stated that July 23 will be the right time to seek vengeance for his fallen fellow boxers.

Simson Butar Butar is dubbed “The Executioneer” because of his hard punching style. Aside from boxers Amonsot and Rufino, he has also managed to snatch the IBO Asia Pacific Super Featherweight Title from Roberto Dalisay last June 2008 at Jakarta, Indonesia via Split Decision. Butar Butar will be a tough opponent for Farenas. The Indonesian boxer has also experienced defeats lately from Pinoy boxer Pagara and Fellow Indon Eddy Comaro so we can expect that he steps into the ring hungry to score a huge win over Farenas. Supporting bouts would be battle between Jay San Pedro’s Tiger City Boxing Stable fighters against other local boxers.

Sponsors of the event are Mayor Benhur Abalos of Mandaluyong and Jay San Pedro of JSP Car Clinic. San Pedro has been supporting the boxing community for such a long time by staging boxing matches showcasing local boxing talents. The whole family of Mayor Benhur Abalos has always been a huge Pinoy boxing fans also and they host boxing matches at Mandaluyong Gym all year round. Other major sponsors are Mr. Ernesto Yu of Market Place Mall and Pagoda Philippines which manufactures Family Rubbing Alcohol with slogan “Hindi lang Pangpamilya, Pang Isports Pa”, Philips Philippines and Kosuke Washio, my long-time Japanese associate and a staunch supporter of Pinoy boxers. The show will be aired on Solar Sports through Elmer Anuran's Saved by the Bell Boxing show. The Saved by the Bell is aired every Sundays at 3pm.

I am hoping that the whole boxing community will continue supporting our Pinoy boxers as they exert dominance not only in the Asia but in global boxing arena.

This is Gerry Penalosa for another hard-hitting boxing news. Keep on punching everyone!!!
