FANS' AND MEDIA'S PRESSURE ON PACQUIAO TO PICK MAYWEATHER FOR MAY 5th IS NOT FAIR

PhilBoxing.com

Now that ?an American court willingly delayed full application of justice to avoid being an obstacle to a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight,? everyone from all walks of life is putting all sorts of pressure on Pacquiao to pick Mayweather as his opponent on May 5th.

Correct me if I am wrong but did Floyd Mayweather say he will accept the fight and most importantly, without pre-conditions?

If I recall I only hear it from other people, the supposedly official spokesperson(s) or cohorts but not Mayweather himself!

I do not have any qualms about Pacquiao fighting Mayweather anytime, May 5th included.

But, darn it, there should be no pre-conditions. Otherwise, it should not happen.

Period!

Why should Pacquiao succumb to the stupid pre-conditions that Mayweather had been asking for from way back when?

If truly he is the better man, then he should man up and meet Pacquiao in the ring just like the Mexican gladiator, Juan Manuel Marquez or even, Cotto, Margarito, de la Hoya, Hatton and the rest of the brave warriors who took the Pacquiao challenge without pre-conditions.

Mayweather should be fearless like them.

But no, the prima donna must have his ways.

Bull!

But you know what?

Some people in the media and fans would agree with Mayweather. They would even close their eyes in spite of his criminal conviction for domestic violence. And, just like that judge in Las Vegas who delayed justice so that Mayweather will have his way, will support the pre-conditions of Mayweather. Others would even pressure Pacquiao to accept them even if the balance was tipped towards Mayweather.

For the above reasons, I am glad that Pacquiao himself is being quiet about his next opponent. I salute the guy for his action, or rather non-action.

Pacquiao is his own man and he should not step in the ring just so the lust for blood of many out there are satisfied and for Las Vegas to rake in millions with a fight featuring Mayweather. With how they carry out justice, Las Vegas does not deserve any penny from the sweat of Pacquiao.

So what if he does not fight Mayweather?

Pacquiao does not need Mayweather to cement his legacy. That is just the plain truth!

I hope that Arum will advise Pacquiao to pick Lamont Peterson or even Tim Bradley.

That should serve Mayweather right.

Had he not asked for those stupid pre-conditions and played those crazy mind games, the fight would have been done long time ago.

Now is his time to wait. He blew his chance the first time around so he should get back in the queue.

So what if his name is ?Money? Mayweather and Las Vegas looks at him with great reverence or rather as a dollar sign.

Pacquiao should stand tall and of look for what is best for his family, his health and his finances.

If that means making less for a fight with somebody else that is fair and without preconditions, so be it.

Pacquiao does not need Mayweather and his pre-conditions.

And pressuring him to fight Mayweather is not fair.
