FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR IS CLEARLY CONFUSED PhilBoxing.com Wed, 29 Jun 2011 Maybe it?s the ambiance of the venue or the reported presence of the ?Mayweather?s Mafia? mentioned by Mike Marley that clouded Mayweather?s mind. I am sure it could not be delusions of grandeur. But really, it could be anything that possibly confused him. At the press conference held at the Hudson Theater in Manhattan, in reference to WBC Welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, Floyd was quoted by AFP, Google News to wit: ?He is trying to dethrone me.? Gosh Floyd, what are you thinking? Victor Ortiz for your information, if you don?t still know by now, is the recognized WBC Welterweight champion. He won that title by beating the previously unbeaten Andre Berto of Winter Haven, Florida via Haiti last April at Connecticut. You are the ex- champion. At this very moment you do not have a crown. Ortiz does. Can you get that into your head? So, how can you claim that Ortiz is trying to dethrone you? It?s the other way around Floyd. Ortiz is the champion and you are the challenger. You are the one after his crown and you are the one who will try to dethrone him. Oh, you may make a hell of a lot more money that Ortiz but until you beat him on top of the ring, it is insane to say that he is trying to dethrone you. So please watch your motor mouth and think for a moment before you open your mouth. People are not all stupid, you know. You can?t fool them every time and swallow everything you say. Those days are gone Floyd! Now get that in your head, concentrate and give us a good fight instead of misplaced words. That is the least you owe your ?fans.?
