NBA -- Nash tweaks back carrying bags

SAN FRANCISCO -- Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash will be sidelined indefinitely after hurting his back while carrying bags, according to multiple reports.
Lakers head coach Byron Scott told ESPN that Nash "heard a twinge" in his back. He missed his third consecutive practice session and hasn't played since asking to be pulled out of the Lakers' tiff against the Warriors last Sunday.
Nash is the oldest active NBA player. Playing in his 19th season, Nash is in the last year of a three-year contract that pays him $28 million.
The 40-year old guard was limited to only 15 games last season due to nerve root irritation and averaged just 6.8 points and 5.7 assists per game. (JSM)
