NBA -- Pistons handle Bucks to go 2-0 in preseason play
By Anthony Rozic PhilBoxing.com Sat, 11 Oct 2014

INDIANA -- The Detroit Pistons remained unbeaten in preseason play and moved to 2-0 Thursday night after beating the Milwaukee Bucks, 94-80, at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
It wasn't exactly a shooting exhibition for the Pistons, who made only 31 of their 81 field goals and just 5 of their 26 triples. But Detroit had enough play makers to get the job done.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the way with 20 points. Andre Drummond registered 15 points and 16 rebounds while Josh Smith added 1 and 9 boards. Kyle Singler and Greg Monroe accounted for 10 points each.
Detroit, which beat the Chicago Bulls in overtime on Tuesday night, missed 11 of their free throws but they compensated by scoring 26 points off 23 Pistons turnovers.
Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy was especially pleased with Pope's effort.
"He plays really, really hard all the time. We have t working our lives guys that you see and they pick up your own energy. He's like that for us, out coaching staff at least. You walk in the gym, he's upbeat, he's ready to go, he brings an energy every day. Those are the guys you want in your organization. Those are the guys you can build good teams around," Van Gundy told the Detroit Free Press.
Kris Middleton paced the Bucks with 13 points on an efficient 4-of-6 from the field. Brandon Knight finished with 11 and 7 assists and John Henson had 10.
Jabari Parker, the Bucks' celebrated No.2 pick in last June's draft made only 4 of 11 shots to finish with 11. But the rookie small forward also had 5 rebounds and an assist. (AR)
