NBA -- Bulls fall to Pistons in OT, 111-109 By Anthony Rozic PhilBoxing.com Wed, 08 Oct 2014 ![]() CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bulls dropped to 0-2 in preseason play after losing to the Detroit Pistons in overtime, 111-109, Tuesday night at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Trailing 95-89 in the final 1:50 to play in the fourth quarter, the Bulls forged the extra session with a 13-7 spurt that knotted the count at 102-all. But the Pistons recovered nicely in the five-minute overtime and narrowly outscored Chicago, 9-7. Greg Monroe led all scorers with 24 points and 9 rebounds for Detroit while Kantevious Caldwell-Pope while Jonas Jerebko added 14, including a big 3 that gave the Pistons a 109-105 push with only 1:35 remaining in overtime. Aaron Brooks and Jimmy Butler each had 18 points to pace the Bulls and Mike Diunleavy contributed 13. Chicago shot well from the field -- 35 of 75 field goals including 9-of-21 triples -- but they stumbled with 22 turnovers against only 13 from Detroit. All-Star center Joakim Noah did not suit up due to a "planned rest day" according to multiple reports. The 6-foot-11 Noah had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last May. Derrick Rose played only for 14 minutes and managed just six free throws after missing all four of his field goals. In Monday night's 85-81 defeat at the hands of the Washington Wizards at the United Center, Rose finished with 11 markers and 4 dimes. Despite his meager output, Rose was upbeat after the contest. "That's pretty good for me, just seeing the ball go in. If I could have played the rest of the game. I know I probably would have been more aggressive. But just trying to be patient and really take it one day at a time," the 2011 MVP told the Chicago Sun-Times.
