PPV FOR MAYWEATHER V MAIDANA 2: RUMOR OR FACT? By Reni M. Valenzuela PhilBoxing.com Sun, 21 Sep 2014 Rumors are sometimes shrewdly intentional. Simple logic: If betting numbers for the ?Mayhem? is horribly down as reported and described by William Hill of trading Nick Bogdanovich, it is near zero probability that PPV numbers would be up for the same event. Though man made ?miracles? happen in the dark. The alleged pay-per-view yield of 925,000 for the Mayweather-Maidana II is no strong number, but likely and validly strong only in mischief. Brats and crocs are just too happy to release or unofficially ?announce? their rumor or self-serving pay-per-view ?dumbers? because of jerks. The American boxer graded himself higher by saying it was a C-minus performance for him last Saturday against a hostile Welterweight Mike Tyson, while the Argentine pug had the right game plan and did effectively in his unrelenting rapid fire assault opposite a shielded turtle. The determined Maidana was constantly advancing, precise and in control throughout the stretch of the bout versus a ?lost? and baffled adversary (who oddly won). Floyd?s eyeglass needs some correction but Baal worshippers in media need an eye operation along with scoring blind masseurs. The computer box statistics that fight officials reported for the Mayweather vs. Maidana rematch may have been mistakenly pulled out from another rematch files somewhere in time past when Sugar Ray Robinson was in his prime. From whose archive did they unearth the punchstats showing ?Mayweather outlanding Maidana 166 to 122 in overall shots and 108 to 77 in power shots?? Wear your glasses or enter a time machine. Is there a chance for a boxer to win a contest wherein he is declared a loser even before the singing of national anthems? It looked like the rule was Mayweather had to be the official winner, by all means, if it would not be via knockout that Mayweather would lose. Was the conspiracy so massive that if anyone would dare stand for truth his voice would be as voice in the wilderness? Maidana was not alone when he said, ?I thought I was winning when I was there.? The unanimous verdict of the judges that proclaimed Mayweather the victor against Marcos ?El Chino? Maidana has the making of scandalous controversy. Yet the more distressing ?controversy? is not in the fight itself but in the deluge of opinions and consensus among assorted ?experts? about the ?Mayhem? show, bragging Mayweather was a virtuoso in full command who outclassed his opponent perfectly, dominantly, forcibly, explosively, powerfully, smartly, wizardly, supremely, etc. How can apostates worship unless they do it before a graven image? Down to earth but here?s the beef. The battered, exhausted and bloodied pound-for-pound god was easily the choice to win in score sheets because he was convincingly a cash cow and a big name ?superstar.? But the unscathed Maidana could have gotten a unanimous, split or majority decision nod had his parents named him Money Mayweather. Suddenly and conspicuously, El Chino?s camp was muted with trainer Robert Garcia and the circus connivers. Will truth be audible to those who listen to money when it speaks? On what basis do corrupt judges in courts give their verdict? For what reason do paid witnesses tell their stories? And what does being ?unbeaten? mean when only the morons and rogues you beat, not the one in the ring with you? Since the Mayhem ?high? at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 13, 2014 and with UFOs detached from reality for over a week hence, who can tell that the song wasn?t worth an ?ear? or ?brain? for those who have ?eyes? that are set towards a crazy, one-sided ambivalence? Oh, that expertly Mozart moving piece which the idolatrous throng played or crooned ala Stevie Wonder in different outlets and crooked channels days before, during and after the gala. Who played who? Who maneuvered who? Who judged who? And who fool who? Mayweather now swaggers, and stubbornly, courtesy of stray sheaves or goats in ?hype and blitz? boxing. He enthused: ?If the Pacquiao fight does happen it has to happen on Showtime pay-per-view only and Mayweather Promotions have to do the fight.? There you have it, people and fans. Kudos to the jerks and crooks! Is there hope for boxing when boxing seems to have lost all scores as a sport of competition and fair play for humans? Or, better yet ask: Is there hope for boxing with jerks, crooks and cracks all over the place, not to mention crocodiles, cobras and vultures in caves? Who or what would people and genuine fans need to boycott in addition to all Pac-Floyd drama prior to and outside of Pac vs. Floyd? Let them bite their tongue. David Purdum of ESPN.com writes, ?The amount wagered on Saturday?s fight was down significantly across town. Jay Rood, vice president of race and sports books for MGM, said the rematch attracted less than 50 percent of the betting action that Mayweather?s fight with Canelo Alvarez drew in September 2013. William Hill, director of trading Nick Bogdanovich described the betting handle on Mayweather-Maidana II as ?horrible.? ?He?s a draw, but it?s not translating to the betting window,? Rood said of Mayweather. ?Floyd?s not the most popular guy,? Bogdanovich added. ?His fights aren?t really exciting. People are tired of it.? Those are hard facts from reliable sources and authorities with no motive to rig figures. But if the Mafias in boxing can rig punch statistics which can readily be spotted and proven wrong by naked eyes, would there be any reason not to disbelieve bogus mathematics that are computed in vaults. A certain JoeMan commented in Boxingscene.com forum about the ?Mayhem? PPV buy figure: ?Zero way to verify it. It appears that when they fail to make 1 million, they think it?s safe to come up with a number close to it. These people should be investigated by the FBI. This is deception on a massive scale.? It takes one to think not to be a jerk. Perhaps it dawned on the promoters that venue ticket sales is indeed no indication of success acceptable to the public since both boxers are popular to their respective followers who have numbers enough to fill the MGM Grand. The fans that count are out there in their right minds. Did not event producers make it public that PPV results won?t be made public anymore due a steady decline in pay-per-view of the recent past bouts of Mayweather? What made them change their position in just a matter of weeks? Doesn?t it tell a volume to a sane person why they suddenly forgot their word? Nonetheless, though, only the irresponsible have motive or ?brain? to take numbers from the mouth of crocs and pass them to others as ?facts.? Hope against hope that boxing isn?t hopeless. Ah, the good and credible report: Las Vegas bettors are coming home by losing interest in betting on Mayweather as what betting numbers indicate in this latest Mayweather lackluster and bo-ring effort. But what else in boxing that boxing can afford to lose? All except sanity. There is yet hope. Be back. renmvalenzuela@yahoo.com Click here to view a list of other articles written by Reni M.
